- I have lived in England for 35 years but decided to retire early and live in my native country, Malta. I live in Gozo really which is a 20 minute ferry ride away from Malta but I stay in Malta at the weekend and spend most of it with my family. M My main interest is cake decorating and making sugar flowers and despite being retired, I am now giving cake decorating lessons. I had my own cake decorating business in England. I have shipped all the equipment over here but most of the cakes I make nowadays are for family and friends. There is a sudden craze for cookies over here. I suppose, I introduced them and I make about 100 every week for young boys and girls on their birthday to take to school. Most of them are football shirts as they are football made over here.
